Licensing, plans & updates
Manage your Freemius lifetime licence, upgrade site counts, receive automatic updates, and understand how sites behave if a licence lapses.
Kerf is sold as a one-time payment with lifetime updates through Freemius, our merchant of record and licensing platform.
Lifetime plans & upgrading site counts
- Personal ($49 launch / $99 regular): 1 site, every feature, lifetime updates.
- Freelancer ($99 launch / $179 regular): 5 sites, every feature including Client mode, lifetime updates.
- Agency ($199 launch / $299 regular): Unlimited sites, every feature, lifetime updates.
Need more sites later? Open Kerf → Account in WordPress (or your Freemius buyer dashboard) to upgrade from Personal to Freelancer or Agency by paying only the difference.
Receiving theme updates
As long as your licence is active on the site, new releases of Kerf appear automatically under Dashboard → Updates and Appearance → Themes just like any standard WordPress theme. Updating the theme never overwrites your imported pages, template parts, or staged mockup assets.
Moving a licence from staging to production
You can deactivate your licence on a local or staging install under Kerf → Account and activate the same key on your live production domain at any time.
What happens if a licence is deactivated
Your live website never breaks
Kerf’s front-end rendering engine never checks for a licence. If you deactivate a licence on a site, every imported page, template, menu, stylesheet, script, and contact form continues to render and work 100% normally, and Client mode’s layout lock stays active.
